Event Type

The Event Type module in InvestGlass allows you to define and manage the categories of events, meetings, and activities that your organisation tracks. This module provides structure to your calendar and activity management by categorising interactions into meaningful types.

What Are Event Types?

Event Types are predefined categories that classify the different kinds of meetings, calls, appointments, and activities your team conducts. Examples include client review meetings, prospecting calls, compliance reviews, and internal team meetings.

How to Access Event Types

1. Log in to your InvestGlass instance. 2. Navigate to the left-hand sidebar menu. 3. Click on Event Type to manage your event categories.

• Category Definition - Create custom event categories that reflect your business activities
  • Duration Defaults - Set default durations for each event type
    • Colour Coding - Assign colours for visual calendar differentiation
      • Required Fields - Define which fields are mandatory for each event type
        • Scheduling Rules - Set availability rules and buffer times between events
          • Reporting Tags - Enable reporting and analytics by event category
            

Creating an Event Type

1. Navigate to Event Type from the sidebar. 2. Click + New Event Type to create a new category. 3. Enter the event type name and description. 4. Set the default duration and buffer time. 5. Assign a colour for calendar display. 6. Define any required fields specific to this event type. 7. Save the event type.
   

Best Practices

Keep your event type list manageable and well-defined. Use clear, descriptive names that all team members understand. Align event types with your reporting requirements so you can extract meaningful insights from calendar data.
